Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering
Érick Abraham joined Pyrotech BEI as a forensic expert (mechanical engineer). A member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, he holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in aeronautics obtained in 1995, and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering, with a major in structures and materials obtained in 1997 from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
Within the mechanical engineering department, Érick mainly conducts investigations related to vehicles and mechanical equipment. His areas of expertise include the reconstruction of road vehicle collisions, fire investigations, and equipment failure analyses. He has over 21 years of experience in reconstructing all types of vehicle collisions and in operating various safety devices on board vehicles, as well as more than 18 years of experience in reading and interpreting data from Road Data Recorders (EDRs).
He has also participated in coroner’s public inquiries, conducted research and expert projects for Transport Canada, the MTQ, SAAQ, Bureau du coroner, Commissaire à la déontologie policière, Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DPCP), and several police services in the Province of Quebec. He is also recognized as an expert witness in court.
In his spare time, Érick is involved in a minor hockey association. Passionate about DIY projects, mechanics, and computers, he enjoys carrying out repairs, maintaining his vehicles, and riding road bikes.
