Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Jean-Philippe joined Pyrotech BEI as a forensic expert (mechanical engineer). He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.

Within the mechanical engineering department, Jean-Philippe conducts investigations on the origin and cause of failures involving road vehicles and industrial equipment. He also performs collision reconstructions and carries out tests and simulations to validate hypotheses.

During his university studies, he completed an internship with a major urban bus manufacturer within the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning team. He also worked for a manufacturer of industrial trucks, where he was responsible for installing various components of the electrical power system.

He was involved in the Formula SAE team, an engineering competition focused on the design and fabrication of a single-seat race car.

His experience strengthened his expertise in automotive mechanics, a field in which he has long been passionate. He developed his skills early on by maintaining and repairing his own vehicle, as well as those of people around him.

In his spare time, when Jean-Philippe is not working on a vehicle, he enjoys staying active—especially by playing hockey on both ice and synthetic surfaces.
