Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Mathieu Bellavance joined Pyrotech BEI as a forensic expert (mechanical engineer). A member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, he holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure, obtained in 2005.

In addition to his role of Director of the Mechanical Engineering department, Mathieu conducts investigations on the origin and cause of incidents and failures of road vehicles and industrial equipment. He also conducts investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires of residential and commercial buildings.

Previously, Mathieu worked for nearly 14 years in the aeronautics field as a structural stress analyst. This experience allows him to develop an in-depth understanding of the mechanical systems analyzed within the scope of his mandates.

During his spare time, Mathieu practices mountain biking, tennis, hockey, and alpine skiing. His true passion remains motorcycling, whether on the road, on racetracks, or on off-road trails.
