Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry
Karine Venne joined Pyrotech BEI as a forensic expert (chemist). A member of the Ordre des chimistes du Québec, she holds a master’s degree in analytical chemistry from Université de Montréal.
Director of the material engineering and chemistry department, Karine also conducts investigations on failures of plumbing material and chemical contamination. She carries out analyses on polymers and metallurgical material failures (plumbing pipes and fittings), coatings, and food contamination, while supporting forensic experts in fire investigations. An excellent trainer, Karine also stands out for her ability to simplify the science behind investigations.
Karine has 15 years of experience in research and development within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic sectors. She has developed analytical methods of organic compounds in various matrices (blood, tissues, food products, powders, water, etc.) using a wide range of analytical chemistry techniques (GC-MS, LC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR).
Karine spends her free time with her family and engages in sports activities such as skiing, ice hockey, cycling, or tennis, depending on the season.
