Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Vincent Guérin-Simard joined Pyrotech BEI as a forensic expert (electrical engineer). He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Université Laval, obtained in 2010.

Within the electrical engineering department, Vincent conducts investigations pertaining to the origin and cause of fires of residential and commercial buildings.

Vincent previously worked as a project engineer for a manufacturer of large-scale energy storage modules intended for utility companies. He contributed to the installation of large-scale projects, including a site capable of supplying power to an entire village in Haute-Mauricie during a grid outage.

Vincent also held the position of commissioning engineer for a ski lift manufacturer delivering turnkey projects across the country. In this role, he was responsible for the design and commissioning of control systems. This field experience enabled him to develop in-depth expertise in electrotechnics, automation, and control systems.

Furthermore, he worked for an energy efficiency consulting firm as a designer, which allowed him to build a strong foundation in building electrical systems and HVACs.

In his spare time, Vincent enjoys exploring the backcountry through alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking. He also enjoys participating in recreational hockey leagues.
