Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Marc-André Ducharme joined Pyrotech BEI as a forensic expert (electrical engineer). A member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, he holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure, obtained in 2010.
Within the electrical engineering department, Marc-André conducts investigations on the origin and cause of fires and electrical failures.
He previously worked in aeronautics for ten years, focusing on aircraft engine simulation and avionics systems. His role involved developing new simulation models, conducting laboratory and customer trials and tests worldwide, and debugging these complex systems.
He also worked as an electrical engineering consultant and served as a director of engineering in the field of embedded electronic systems for the automotive, agricultural, and home automation sectors.
He has co-invented several products, including an autonomous accessory battery charging system for electric vehicles, an intermittent windshield wiper control system for agricultural tractors, and a remote gas fireplace control system via a mobile application.
In his spare time, Marc-André utilizes his expertise by carrying out various construction and repair projects as he is the owner of apartment buildings. Passionate about mechanics, electricity, and automated horticulture, he also owns a self-sustaining aquaponics banana greenhouse and an agricultural property where grapevines and pawpaw trees are cultivated.
